The mission of the VAW/VRC Memorial Scholarship Fund is to provide for the Navy family in the education of its children, and in particular, those of active duty or reserve service members, in the VAW and VRC communities who are lost as a result of a combat aircraft loss or as a result of a military aviation-related mishap, or U.S. Navy enlisted personnel who are lost as a result of a combat aircraft loss or as a result of a military aviation-related mishap while assigned to a VAW or VRC squadron.


The VAW/VRC community is comprised of the United States Navy’s Carrier Airborne Early Warning & Fleet Logistic Support Squadrons:

            -VAW-112 “Golden Hawks”

            -VAW-113 “The Black Eagles

            -VAW-115 “Sentinels/Liberty Bells”

            -VAW-116 “The Sun Kings”

            -VAW-117 “Wallbangers”

            -VAW-120 “Greyhawks”

            -VAW-121 “Bluetails”

            -VAW-123 “Screwtops”

            -VAW-124 “Bear Aces”

            -VAW-125 “Tigertails”

            -VAW-126 “Seahawks”

            -VRC-30 “The Providers”

            -VRC-40 “Rawhides”

            -and the Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School (CAEWWS) at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (NSAWC)
